Add your voice to support the Homes for Every Local Protector, Educator, and Responder Act! This bill aims to help local EMTs buy homes in the communities they educate and serve.
The HELPER Act will support the men and women serving in our communities by giving them the ability to afford a home in those communities.
By offering affordable mortgage possibilities along with no down payment or monthly mortgage insurance, the HELPER Act is a true bipartisan effort to enrich the lives of our local heroes.
Due to the competitive real estate market, our first responders are having a hard time finding homes they can afford or getting approved for a home loan. The bipartisan effort behind the HELPER Act is hoping to solve that by eliminating the need for a down payment and taking away the pressure that comes from monthly mortgage insurance.
By freeing up some of the funds associated with purchasing a home, the HELPER Act will give EMTs and paramedics a better chance at becoming homeowners in the towns they work in. Because this bill has no geographical restrictions, men and women who have been working as first responders for at least five years will be eligible to buy a home anywhere they want.

The Helper Act would be a lifeline for Emergency personnel. Many in this profession struggle with obtaining homeownership. The Helper Act would change that. Not having to pay a down payment and no monthly mortgage insurance premium. This would substantially help first responders, in obtaining a home that would not be possible otherwise. "
